We are the

Saint Lucie County Rock and Gem Club.

Our mission is to be a gathering place and network for the promotion of the lapidary and related arts.

To this end we teach a series of classes focused on different areas and skills ranging from Stained Glass to Faceting and from Casting to Beading and many areas in between. Our classes are 10 weeks long offered 4 times a year for nominal fees.

Our members include 80 year old newbies and highly skilled 20 somethings. They bring a wide range of skills and creativity into our classes.

We are a meritocracy, in other words if you have the skills you may be tapped on the shoulder to teach within months of joining. Other instructors have been teaching within their area for 20+years. Some of our instructors spend their summer vacations teaching at the prestigious William Holland School in northern Georgia.

In addition we host 4 special events a year.

On the first weekend in November we have a Rock, gem and jewelry show.

In December we have our Holiday party.

On March 19th we have a club auction where we sell off thousands of dollars worth of raw materials, lapidary equipment and other various and sundry donations.

In April we have a picnic with the Treasure Coast Rock and Gem Club (Vero Beach) including a tailgate sale.

We also have field trips to fossil and mineral collection sites as well as places of interest to our members such as the King Tut exhibit in Fort Lauderdale.
